Journey Pay Homage To James Gandolfini
The Sopranos actor died yesterday aged 51
Journey have paid tribute to Sopranos actor James Gandolfini who died yesterday (19th June) aged 51.
The rock veterans’ 1981 anthem ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ was used in the ambiguous closing scene of the final Sopranos episode in 2007, reviving the track and entrenching it into TV history.
Gandolfini, whose starring role as mob boss Tony Soprano is widely heralded as one of greatest TV performances of all time, died in Rome of a suspected heart attack.
In a brief statement, Journey wrote:
“It's truly an honor to have been able to share one of the greatest moments ever in TV history with James Gandolfini. He was an amazing actor - taken way too young - and he'll be missed. Our condolences go out to his family.”
Gandolfini also starred in a string of acclaimed movies including Zero Dark Thirty, In The Loop and Where The Wild Things Are.
