Joe Trohman officially returns to Fall Out Boy
Great news

Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman has announced his return to the band four-and-a-half-months after he took time out to focus on his mental health.
In a statement back in January, Joe Trohman announced he was stepping away from Fall Out Boy “for a spell”, explaining to fans: “I must recover which means putting myself and my mental health first.”
He wrote: “Without divulging all the details, I must disclose that my mental health has rapidly deteriorated over the past several years.
“So, to avoid fading away and never returning, I will be taking a break from work which regrettably includes stepping away from Fall Out Boy for a spell.”
Fall Out Boy performed a string of shows in North America and Europe earlier this year with stand-in Ben Young on guitar duties, however Joe Trohman performed live with the band at the NFL Draft event in Kansas in April.
Taking to Instagram yesterday (29th May), Joe Trohman said he has officially returned full-time to Fall Out Boy.
He wrote: “Hey everyone, I'm officially back! I want to thank everyone for the love and support while I took some time away to focus on my brain and get healthy for my family, my friends and myself.
“I also want to thank Ben Young for stepping up and filling in on the shows I missed - He is a true gentleman and a scholar.
“I'm stoked to be back in action and I can't wait to see everyone on tour this summer!”
Fall Out Boy play a headline UK arena tour this coming October and November taking in shows in Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Cardiff.
Joe Trohman co-founded Fall Out Boy alongside his friend Pete Wentz in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette, Illinois and he has remained a constant member appearing on all eight of their studio albums.
Trohman has spoken candidly about his mental health in the past and launched the podcast I Hate Myself in 2021, which sees him discuss the subject.
He also wrote about his battles with depression and substance abuse in his 2022 memoir None of This Rocks.
Fall Out Boy’s new studio album ‘So Much (for) Stardust’ is released on Friday 24th March 2023.
