US pop singer Kelly Clarkson has been accused of ripping off Jimmy Eat World’s 2001 anthem ‘The Middle’.
The singer, who rose to fame after winning American Idol in 2002, unveiled her new track ‘Heartbeat Song’ earlier today and faced an immediate backlash from Jimmy Eat World fans.
One Twitter user wrote: “Does the Kelly Clarkson song not officially sample Jimmy Eat World then? Surely they can’t get away with that...”
Another said: “Someone probably needs to let Kelly Clarkson know that her new single is actually just her singing over Jimmy Eat World's 'The Middle'....”
