Izzy Stradlin confirms he has 'no involvement' in Guns N' Roses reunion
"There is so much speculation, I thought I would reach out," he says
Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin has confirmed he has absolutely no involvement in the band’s reunion.
‘Classic’ Guns N’ Roses band members Slash, Axl Rose and Duff McKagan buried the hatchet in January and are performing together in Las Vegas and Coachella this spring.
However, since then speculation has been rife about whether Izzy Stadlin or Steven Adler are joining the fold.
Izzy joined Twitter last week and opened his @IzzyStradlin999 account by telling fans: “At this point in time, I’ve no involvement in the upcoming April 2016 GNR shows.”
Now, in a fresh interview with Rolling Stone, Izzy confirmed authenticity of the Twitter account and also reiterated he’s not part on Guns N’ Roses’ plans.
"At this point in time, I will not be playing at any of the April 2016 GNR shows," he explained.
"I've also not been in the studio recording or writing with any of the others recently. There is so much speculation, but so very little info, (that) I thought I should reach out."
He added: "I know there's a lot of questions regarding my Twitter account but it's me. I opened the Twitter account. There was just so much speculation going on regarding my involvement and studio recording.
“There’s so much misinformation, so I wanted to clarify that I'm not in the studio recording with any of the Guns N' Roses guys. At this point in time, I'm not involved in the actual shows ... A lot of stuff (fans) are reading isn't true."
The current Guns N’ Roses line-up features Rose, Slash, McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Chris Pitman.
