Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Foo Fighters Tipped To Headline Glastonbury 2015
After Metallica’s storming set on Saturday night
It looks like Metallica have obliterated the floodgates for heavy music at Glastonbury Festival following their sensational headline set on Saturday night.
Bookmakers William Hill are today listing British heavy metal titans Iron Maiden as favourites to play The Pyramid Stage in 2015 with odds of 7/1.
AC/DC are close behind at 10/1 and Foo Fighters, who release their fervently awaited eighth album later this year, are listed at 12/1.
Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis revealed yesterday that he booked one of next year’s headliners during Metallica’s incendiary performance.
"We've got three headliners already – and that's without Prince. We've got some good headliners. We had an agent for a band yesterday on the platform by the stage watching Metallica with me, saying, 'My band want to do it next year'.
“I can't tell you who it was but that was done on the platform watching Metallica. It it a British artist? He's definitely British, but the band are not British any more."
William Hill’s Iron Maiden odds conflict with comments Bruce Dickinson made slamming the festival earlier this month.
"In the days when Glasto was an alternative festival it was quite interesting," Bruce told The Telegraph.
“Now it’s the most bourgeois thing on the planet. Anywhere Gwyneth Paltrow goes and you can live in an air-conditioned yurt is not for me."
