Guns N' Roses start countdown to announcement at 5am on Friday 4th May
An exciting new development
Perennial teases Guns N’ Roses have now started a countdown to an announcement that will happen at 5am this Friday (4th May).
As reported yesterday, a mysterious billboard appeared in Camden, North London on Sunday featuring the skeletal incarnations of the ‘Appetite for Destruction’-era line-up of the band; Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler.
The poster also pointed to a website - www.gnr.fm - that was emblazoned with the words ‘Destruction Is Coming’ and the hashtag ‘#AppetiteForDestruction’.
In the early hours of this morning, the website updated to feature a timer that is counting down to 5am on Friday 4th May.
Fans who visit the website from their mobile can also use their location to find out where the nearest billboard advert is. These locations are represented by purple dots on a world map that forms the backdrop of the website.
It’s highly likely that the website is building up hype around a reissue of Guns N’ Roses’ 1987 tour-de-force ‘Appetite For Destruction’ – possibly in an expanded or box set form.
Other (highly hopeful) fan theories include ‘Appetite For Destruction’ live shows with Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler back in the fold, and fresh Guns N’ Roses material.
