Watch Guns N' Roses perform Velvet Revolver’s ‘Slither’ for the first time
Will they play it at Download?
Guns N’ Roses performed Velvet Revolver’s ‘Slither’ for the very first time in Berlin last night (3rd June).
The rock icons show at the 75,000 capacity Olympiastadion in the German capital was the opening date of their current European leg of their Not In This Lifetime… Tour and their first gig of 2018.
Midway through their career-spanning set, Guns N’ Roses launched into a cover of Velvet Revolver’s 2004 track ‘Slither’ with Axl Rose taking on the late-great Scott Weiland’s vocal duties.
Watch fan-filmed footage of the performance here:
Velvet Revolver, of course, featured current Guns N’ Roses members Duff McKagan and Slash together with former drummer Matt Sorum. Guitarist Dave Kushner completed the line-up.
Axl Rose and Scott Weiland were embroiled in a very public feud back in 2006 when Axl issued a press release claiming that his then ex-bandmate Slash had visited his home wanting to “end the war” with him.
Axl alleged that Slash critiqued his Velvet Revolver bandmates, prompting Scott to write an open letter where he labelled Axl a “fat, botox-faced, wig-wearin' f***.”
