Green Day look on the bright side of life with uplifting new song 'Pollyanna'
The trio surprise released the new track
Green Day have surprise released an uplifting new song called ‘Pollyanna.’
The standalone single is an anthem of positivity for these turbulent times, and it’s packed with upbeat lyrics about looking on the bright side of life.
“Rainy days and razor blades / I think it’s time to pull up the shades / It’s wonderful to be alive,” sings frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in the opening lines.
He sings later: “Don’t let em get you down / Don’t let em push you around / We’re gonna take back the night / Everything’s gonna be alright.
“Que sera and C’est la vie / Everyday’s a jubilee / It’s wonderful to be alive.”
Green Day wrote on social media: "Better days are looking up the road, and to celebrate we just dropped a brand new song.”
