In a big news double whammy, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s new side-project The Longshot have released their debut album and premiered their debut music video.

Following weeks of hype and clandestine clues from perennial tease Billie Joe, last Thursday the band released their self-titled three-track debut EP and uploaded the audio for all three songs - ‘Love is for Losers’, ‘Taxi Driver’ and ‘Chasing a Ghost’ – on YouTube.

Alongside the EP, The Longshot announced that “new album ‘Love is for Losers’ coming sooner or later. Probably sooner.”

Keeping their promise, the quartet released ‘The Longshot’ to the world this morning and the 11-track record is available to listen to in its entirety online.

Unveiling the artwork, Billie Joe told his 1.8million Instagram followers: “My new album The Longshot is out now!! Let’s have some fun. Raise some hell and do bad things!”

Alongside the album, their debut music video for ‘Love is for Losers’ is available to watch in its glorious entirety right here:

A solo project of shorts, alongside lynchpin Billie Joe Armstrong, The Longshot also features bassist Jeff Matika, guitarist Kevin Preston and drummer David S. Field.

The Longshot join Billie Joe’s other non-Green Day ventures, which also include Pinhead Gunpowder, Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network.
