Frank Turner will play a free gig for Blink-182 fans tonight (17th July) after the pop-punk trio cancelled their Bournemouth International Centre show.

At 9am this morning, Blink’s tour promoters SJM broke the news that the completely sold- out BIC gig has been cancelled due to illness within the band.

Mark Hoppus later confirmed that he was the ailing band member, telling his three-million Twitter followers: “Got through Liverpool, then crashed yesterday. Still sick today. Tonight's show in Bournemouth cancelled. Terrible. Hate cancelling shows.”

The all-round top bloke that he is, main support act Frank Turner has been working away all morning to book a venue for a last-minute show.

Frank has now confirmed he will play a solo gig at the 800-capacity Bournemouth Old Fire Station with Front Bottoms (solo) in support.

Entry is free for Blink-182 ticketholders from 6pm until 7pm on a first come, first served basis. If there are any remaining tickets after 7pm then entry costs ÂŁ10.

Frank’s band The Sleeping Souls won’t be joining him on stage at the Old Fire Station as, in his words, “unfortunately our band gear is buried under Blink's stuff in a truck!”

Blink-182 are scheduled to conclude their UK tour with two shows at The O2, London on Wednesday (19th July) and Thursday (20th July).
