Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins Reveals New Band The Birds of Satan

Their debut album is out next month

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has revealed full details of his brand new band The Birds of Satan.

!Consisting of Taylor on vocals and drums, Wiley Hodgden on bass/backing vocals and Mick Murphy on guitar, the trio will unleash their self-titled debut album on Monday 14th April via Shanabelle Records.

Produced and engineered by John Lousteau and mixed by Drew Hester, the seven-track record was recorded in less than a week and boasts guest appearances from a certain Dave Grohl and Pat Smear on guitars.

Fans who pre-order the album from iTunes from today will receive the opening 10-minute epic ‘Thanks For The Line’ as a free download.

Foo Fighters started work on their eighth studio album back in January. Teasing their millions of fans, they posted a photo of a row of master tapes on Instagram along with the caption: “It’s F***ing ON”.

Last November, Dave Grohl told Rolling Stone that the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Wasting Light’ will be “badass.”

He enthused: “We’re doing something that nobody knows about, it’s f***ing rad.

“We begin recording soon, but we’re doing it in a way that no one’s done before and we’re writing the album in a way that I don’t think has been done before.”
