Bassist Bill Gould reveals it will be released next April

Faith No More have announced that they will release their first album in 18 years next April.

The follow-up to 1997's 'Album of the Year' will be produced by bassist Bill Gould and released via the band's own label Reclamation Records.

Speaking about the decision to self-release their seventh album, Gould told Rolling Stone: "The name has to do with the fact that we realised we were free from our recording obligations.

"We weren't touring, we have these songs that we were working on - that we think are pretty cool - and why don't we just do our own imprint and kind of reclaim our future, in a way? We own the future more than we ever have."

He added: "Hopefully it doesn’t sound like a bunch of 50-year-old men... which we are!"

New song 'Motherf**ker', which Faith No More performed at Black Sabbath Time in Hyde Park earlier this year, will be released as the album's first single on November 28th 2014 for Record Store Day's 'Black Friday'.
