Ex My Chemical Romance Bassist Mikey Way Confirms New Band
He confirms the news to a fan
Former My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way has confirmed he has formed a new band.
Quizzed by a fan on Twitter whether rumours of a new outfit are true, Mikey somewhat mystically responded:
Unfortunately at this time we don’t know what they’re called, who is involved and when they will release any music.
Mikey’s tantalising announcement comes days after his ex-My Chemical Romance guitarist Ray Toro uploaded a solo song called ‘Isn’t That Something’ onto Soundcloud.
Showcasing his multitalented skills, Ray sang everything, played all the instruments and self-produced the track. Take a listen to it below.
Before My Chemical Romance called it a day in March, Frank Iero had already unleashed two several solo tracks, including the Frankenweenie soundtrack bonus track ‘This Song is a Curse’.
He’s also part of an electronic-hardcore band Death Spells alongside former MCR touring keyboardist James Dewees. The band are currently hard at work on their debut album.
Mikey’s older brother Gerard Way is the only member of MCR whose future plans are hazy.
The vocalist has been juggling making comics with loosely experimenting with new music.
He told Yahoo! Music earlier this month: “I’m just trying to figure out exactly what I’m supposed to do. I take a cue from the universe and I think about that pretty deeply and go with my gut 100 percent.”
