Enter Shikari and Feeder announce ultra-intimate shows for January 2022
The Revive Live Tour brings big acts to tiny grassroots venues
Last updated 30th Nov 2021
Enter Shikari and Feeder are amongst the artists set to perform special intimate shows across the UK’s grassroots venues as part of The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour.
Music Venue Trust (MVT) joins forces with The National Lottery for the Revive Live Tour, presenting exclusive one-off shows across the country, with headline artists including Enter Shikari, Bastille, Feeder, and The Coral. The tour aims to highlight the importance of grassroots venues.
Enter Shikari will be playing Club 85, Hitchin on 27th January 2022, while Feeder will play at The Queen’s Hall, Narberth on 14th January 2022.
Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds comments, "Since we were 15 we’ve been playing Grassroots Venues up and down the country. They were our home and gave us the opportunity to develop into the band we are today. One of those venues was Club 85. So it’s so great to be able to return and play there again after more than a decade and help highlight the fact that these venues need support especially right now after they’ve been sat empty for nearly two years.
"Without Grassroots Venues like Club 85 and all the other places we played as kids (a lot of which have already, sadly, been consigned to the history books) there’s less of a chance that four teenagers can change their own, or anyone else’s, lives." Reynolds adds, "They are breeding grounds for new music as well as strong communities. And THAT’S why we’re doing this."
The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour will also see a range of exciting up-and-coming rock artists including The Snuts, KEG, Cultdreams, The Wytches, Snake Eyes, The Kut, Strange Bones, Calva Louise and LibraLibra playing tiny shows across the UK in January. Tickets go on sale this Friday (3rd December) and 10am here.
Shows will be taking place across the country, with National Lottery players having a chance to bring a ‘plus one’ for free.

Enter Shikari self-produced 'Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible'
We caught up with the band on our new podcast Kerrang! Radio: The Lockdown Interviews; when talking about self-producing their latest album, Rory explained: "I think the reason this record sounds like the most definitive Shikari record is because it's the first time we've properly self-produced a record, with Rou taking the major lead on production. It's had the least amount of outside influence other than us four in the band."
He added: "I've always wanted to try doing a self-produced record, but circumstances never really allowed before, so this is the first chance we've had to do it. It's been such an amazing experience, and I think that really shows in the record.
"I think it's a really interesting, fun record to listen to. I also think that's why it sounds like a greatest hits, and sounds like the most Shikari record, because it's got the most amount of Shikari in it."
Enter Shikari soundtracked Andy Murray's historic 2013 Wimbledon win
As well as having their tunes appear on such critically-acclaimed shows as Made in Chelsea, Bargain Hunt and The Antiques Roadshow, Shikari also soundtracked an historic TV moment. Their song 'Radiate' was played on TV to an audience of 17.3 million as Andy Murray walked onto the court during the Wimbledon men's singles final in 2013. Murray beat Novak Djokovic to become the first British man to win Wimbledon since 1936, and the first Scot to win it since 1896. Definitely thanks to Enter Shikari.
Enter Shikari
Electro-rockers Enter Shikari sponsored sixth tier football club St Albans City FC. "Growing up I was passionate about two things: football and music," said Enter Shikari bassist Chris Batten. "The reality is that sport and music go hand-in-hand when it comes to providing a positive outlet for young people, no matter what their background. SACFC lead the way with their community outreach programs and Enter Shikari couldn't be more proud to embark on a partnership with the club."
