Download Festival goers will be able to limber up at this summer’s event at Doom Metal yoga.
Making the leap into the world of well-being and fitness, the Donington Park rock institution has confirmed that DO.OMYOGA is coming to the Download Festival for the first time.
The classes are completely free and on a first come, first served basis and will host up to 250 Metal Yoga enthusiasts, experts and beginners enjoying alternative relaxation and practising their Download-facing Dogs.
Also hosted at the Ace Hotel London, DO.OMYOGA is a slow vinyasa based yoga practice set to a selection of music from the heavier and vibrational end of the music spectrum.
90-minute classes will be held at The Side Splitter Stage at 11am on Thursday and Friday and 9am on Saturday 9th June and Sunday 10th June.
DO.OMYOGA is just one of a series of activities and immersive experiences at the rock and metal extravaganza.
Also newly announced is a new area called the Sindrome, which is billed as “a place of death defying, record breaking stunts, bohemian freaks, fire shows, machine madness and Viking battles injected with a heavy dose of love, peace and air rock n roll.”
The arena will host the likes of Circus sideshow Caravan Of Lost Souls, Demolition Download featuring Battle Heritage, and the inaugural UK Air Guitar Championships.
Other attractions include Infernal Varanne, a French based world record holding team showcasing the dangerous art of cage riding, while the electrifying Lords of Lightning will headline the SINDROME stage on Saturday and Sunday.
Elsewhere, The World’s Greatest Wall of Death will return to The Download Village and Circus of Horrors are back in the Dog House. The Download Village will once again host food and drink stalls, fairground rides and more.
Last week Download Festival announced the final two bands for the line-up, the mighty Massive Wagons and Napalm Death.
The new additions join headliners Guns N’ Roses, Ozzy Osbourne and Avenged Sevenfold plus the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Black Stone Cherry, Marilyn Manson, You Me At Six, Black Veil Brides, Rise Against, Baby Metal, Parkway Drive. Hell Is For Heroes, Neck Deep, The Hives, Asking Alexandria, Jonathan Davis and many, many more.
