Deftones keyboardist and turntable wizard Frank Delgado says the band wouldn’t rule out collaborating with Justin Bieber.

Delgado was asked abut joining musical forces with the much maligned pop star after frontman Chino Moreno admitted to Kerrang he has downloaded Bieber’s music.

“I wouldn’t put it past Chino to work with Bieber,” Delgado said. “We’ve never been afraid to work with anyone, I mean we’re not afraid to try different things, cover different songs, different artists, you know? We’re that band… we can try and morph into whatever, and try and make it Deftones.”

Adding some perspective, Delgado added to Music Feeds: “We’re not the type of band that’s been going out of our way to work with everyone… I think it’s just a matter of if it fits, you know?

“I think what’s cool about us is that we never really know how it’s gonna happen, or who it’s going to be even if it does happen. And I think that’s what makes good songs and good albums… when those little things happen organically.

“But it’s always fun to learn from different people and different artists – how they work, stuff like that, so I don’t think we’ll ever not want to work with certain people. But yeah, if it happens, it happens.”

Back in November, Moreno told Kerrang! he likes Bieber’s international smash hit ‘What Do You Mean?’

“I actually downloaded this song just yesterday. I had to; it’s completely unavoidable!” he enthused. “It comes on in the car every time I get in it. And you know what? I like it! I really do!

“I don’t know how surprised people will be about that. I think people who know me know that I listen to a lot of corny s***! I’ve got no problem with it, so I’ll just keep on enjoying this one.”

Deftones play London SSE Arena, Wembley on Friday 3rd June. The final tickets are on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now.

Their eighth studio album ‘Gore’ is released on 8th April.
