Deftones Confirmed For Reading and Leeds Festival
The first wave of acts are revealed
Deftones are amongst the first batch of acts confirmed for Reading and Leeds Festivals 2013!
The influential Sacramento rock icons will celebrate their 25th year in music with a coveted slot on the Main Stage.
They enthused: "We are thrilled to be returning to Reading and Leeds. In previous years it’s always been a highlight for us and we are honoured to have been invited back."
2012 Mercury Prize winners Alt-J will top the bill on the second stage, Sub Focus will bring the beats to the dance tent while grime supergroup Boy Better Know, featuring Wiley, Skepta and JME, will also perform.
!The biggest dual-site festivals in the UK are set to feature 25% more artists than ever before with additional stages, an updated new look (including a snazzy logo), and a more eclectic line-up.
As well as a brand spanking new hip-hop and grime stage, the dance arena has expanded into a three-day electronic music marathon.
Head honcho Melvin Benn commented: “Not only do we have a fresh look for next year, but we are also adding to the fans’ experience of the festival with the introduction of more stages and genres of music, which also inevitably means an increase in the number of artists playing across the weekend.
“The addition of the hip-hop stage and the extension of the dance line-up to a three day stage - whilst not losing the essence of what Reading & Leeds Festivals are about - are the things that really excite me.”
There will also be changes and improvements to the existing Reading and Leeds sites’ layouts so festivalgoers can enjoy a smoother experience.
Reading & Leeds Festivals take place on Friday 23rd August to Sunday 25th August 2013 at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds.
Weekend tickets go on sale from tomorrow (30th November) at 9am. Those who can’t afford the full price right now can pay a £50 deposit before 31st December 2012 in order to secure a weekend ticket at 2012 prices.
