David Bowie dies following 18 month battle with cancer
David Bowie has passed away aged 69.

A statement posted on the iconic singer's on Monday morning read:
"January 10 2016 - David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
The sad news was also confirmed by Bowie's son Duncan Jones on Twitter:
David Bowie had just released his 29th studio album "Blackstar" to coincide with his 69th birthday on Friday 8th January 2016.
Since the news broke, tributes have been pouring in online from fans and fellow musicians/entertainers alike.
