Danny Worsnop Quits Asking Alexandria
He's now focusing on his other band We Are Harlot
Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop has quit the band after eight years as frontman.
Breaking the news via Twitter, the 24-year-old Yorkshire lad explained: “I want what’s best for the band and at this point in time, that isn’t me.”
Danny added that he will now focus on his other band, 80s inspired hard rockers We Are Harlot, who unleash their self-titled debut album this March.
His full statement reads:
“To all of my friends and fans: I would like to let you know that Asking Alexandria and I are moving forward in separate ways. Over the last eight years together we’ve done some amazing things and created something truly special. I now, same as then, want what’s best for the band and at this point in time, that isn’t me. Asking Alexandria will continue to tour throughout the year and will be working on a new album. I will always support and love Asking Alexandria and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. I am excited for the next chapter of my life with We Are Harlot and will see you all on the road!”
Together with his Asking Alexandria band mates, Danny released three studio albums – including 2013’s chart-denting ‘From Death to Destiny’ - one live album and a plethora of singles.
Danny fronted the band’s biggest tour yet last autumn, which took in 15 shows including The Roundhouse in London.
Somewhat aptly, here’s one of Asking Alexandria’s biggest anthems ‘Movin’ On’:
