Corey Taylor says success of Stone Sour’s Hydrograd proves ‘rock is far from dead’
It achieved Stone Sour's highest ever UK chart entry

Stone Sour lynchpin Corey Taylor has waxed lyrical about the success of their latest record ‘Hydrograd’.
Released to blanket critical acclaim on Friday 30th June, ‘Hydrograd’ is Stone Sour’s fifth consecutive album to dent the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart having debuted at no.8.
In the UK, it entered the official charts at number five – the band’s highest ever chart entry here – while it also charted at no.2 in Australia and the Top 5 in Germany, Japan and Switzerland.
Reflecting upon the international success, Corey said: “We’re blown away by the reception of the album, especially balancing albums sold with our surge in streams. We poured our hearts into this – the proof is in the pudding, so to speak.
“The response tells us two things: people love the songs, and rock is far from dead. Our thanks to all the fans and keep spreading the word! We’ll see you all soon!”
‘Hydrograd’, Stone Sour’s first studio album in four years, boasts the singles ‘Fabuless’ and ‘Song #3’.
Don’t forget, Stone Sour are coming to the UK in late November and early December for a headline tour with support from The Pretty Reckless. Tickets to all shows are on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now.
