Corey Taylor releases defiant statement in response to phone slapping backlash

It’s a story that has divided opinion in the rock world like few others.
On Sunday night, Slipknot uploaded a video to their social media channels showing Corey Taylor smashing the phone out of a fan’s hands who had been texting in the front row during the band’s show.
See what happened here:
On one side of the debate, fans praised Corey’s behaviour hailing him as a martyr for taking direct action against the bane of people consumed with phones at gigs who should be watching bands instead.
Conversely, others slammed Corey saying, amongst other things, it could have been an important text to a family member, the man had paid for his ticket so can do whatever he likes and he could even sue Corey for criminal damage.
Despite the fact that Corey revealed he made peace with the man afterwards, saying “the dude TOTALLY understood the f*** up and we laughed together”, this did little to quell the backlash from some.
Now, in typical Corey style, the singer has released not one but TWO cutting statements in response to the flak he’s receiving.
