Movie legend Sir Christopher Lee will release his second heavy metal album on his 91st birthday.

Out on 27th May, ominously titled concept album ‘Charlemagne: The Omens of Death’ is the follow-up to the Dracula, Lord of the Rings and The Wickerman star’s 2010 release ‘Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross’.

Whereas his debut was more symphonic, Sir Christopher says he’s delved into full-on heavy metal territory with this release.

"The first 'Charlemagne' album is metal, of course, but what I sang was more symphonic,” he explained.

“Now on the second one, 'The Omens Of Death', it is 100% heavy metal. I've done my bits and pieces, and they are heavy metal. I'm not screaming or anything like that, but it is definitely heavy metal."

The album was arranged by Judas Priest’s Richie Faulkner and features bass and guitar from the highly respected Hedras Ramos.

The 'Charlemagne: The Omens Of Death' track-list is as follows:

The Portent Charles The Great The Siege Massacre Of The Saxons Dawning Of A New Age Let Legend Mark Me As The King The Betrayal The Devil's Advocate The Ultimate Sacrifice Judgement Day
