Chester Bennington’s widow Talinda has thanked James Corden after he said it was up to the late singer’s family to decide whether his Carpool Karaoke episode airs.
Alongside The Hangover actor Ken Jeong, Chester and his Linkin Park bandmates Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn filmed an episode of Carpool Karaoke just a week before Chester’s death.
James Corden, who serves as executive producer on the show, said no decision has been made about whether the episode airs and said the family should decide.
“We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled,” Corden told the Associated Press.
“We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want because I don’t think there’s any other way we could deal with it. It’s a tragedy.”
Following Corden’s comments, Talinda Bennington personally thanked both the show and James Corden on Twitter.
A spin-off from recurring segment on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Carpool Karaoke: The Series debuted on Apple Music yesterday (8th August) with Will Smith taking a ride with the British TV host.
Metallica appear in an upcoming episode alongside comedian Billy Eichner.
