My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way Previews Solo Song
His debut album is "near completion"
Former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has signed a solo record deal and previewed a brand new song!
The singer’s newly launched site gerardway.com contains a one-minute instrumental snippet of his first solo material since MCR’s demise 15 months ago.
Together with the musical morsel, Gerard revealed in a blog post that he’s penned a deal with Warner Bros. and has almost finished his first solo album.
Introducing his website, Gerard wrote: “I am beyond thrilled to finally have a place to share everything I make.
“I imagine you’ll see/hear everything from blog posts to images, art, drawings, music, big projects and small projects, looks into things, under things, behind things, and in front of them.
“This will also be the place to come for news on anything related to my ride into the next part of my life. My album is near completion, and you should expect to hear things in the near future, even today actually- with a brief snippet of what is to come. I am excited. It’s starting again.”
My Chemical Romance’s career-spanning compendium ‘May Death Never Stop You’ was released back in March to mark the one-year anniversary of MCR’s split.
