My Chemical Romance fans react to the news they're NOT reforming
Some of the responses are pretty hilarious...
My Chemical Romance have broken millions of fans’ hearts by announcing they’re NOT reforming or touring.
On Wednesday night, the band uploaded a teaser video to their social channels featuring a flag emblazoned with the MCR insignia together with the plaintive piano intro of ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’. At the end, the date 9/23/16 flashed up.
The band’s surprise post unsurprisingly provoked a wave of euphoria from MCR fans who speculated it could be a tour to celebrate the 10th birthday of ‘The Black Parade’.
As if to fuel the rumours, My Chemical Romance also deleted their tweets and Facebook posts from March 2013 announcing their split.
Last night, however, the band quashed the rumours spectacularly with an official statement captioned with ‘Thank you so much for the love.’
It reads: “We’ve been really touched and blown away by the response to the teaser trailer. We are not touring and there is no reunion planned – only a release for the anniversary of The Black Parade.
“Thanks so much for continuing to keep MCR in your minds and in your hearts.”
In the wake of the statement, many fans have voiced their disappointment with some accusing the band of causing unnecessary hype. Others have just posted pics of themselves looking miserable.
