Bring Me The Horizon Battling Imagine Dragons For No.1

It’s a close chart race

Published 3rd Apr 2013

Bring Me The Horizon are currently locked in a fierce battle with Imagine Dragons for the album chart top spot.

Oli Sykes and co.’s tour-de-force ‘Sempiternal’ is currently just over 3,000 copies behind the midweek number one; Imagine Dragons’ ‘Night Visions’.

With Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’, David Bowie’s ‘The Next Day’ and Bastille’s ‘Bad Blood’ snapping at BMTH’s heels it’s going to be a tough slog for the number one spot on Sunday.

Wherever ‘Sempiternal’ ends up, it’s guaranteed to be the Bring Me The Horizon’s highest ever chart entry – ‘There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It…’ reached no.13 in 2010, ‘Suicide Season’ charted at 47 and their 2006 debut ‘Count Your Blessings’ only just dented the top 100.

According to the Official Charts Company, Killswitch Engage are at number seven with their sixth album ‘Disarm The Descent’, British Sea Power’s ‘Machineries Of Joy’ is at 11 and Alkaline Trio’s ‘My Shame Is True’ is set to debut at 38.

Bring Me The Horizon kicks off their UK tour at Manchester Academy 2 on 29th April before taking in shows in Newcastle, Inverness, Glasgow, Southsea, Cardiff, Wolverhampton and London.
