Eight long years after their last studio album ‘Daisy’, Brand New have released their fifth record ‘Science Fiction’ today (18th August).

News of the record first emerged on Tuesday when the band shared a link to the very limited-edition vinyl pre-order, writing “LP5, available to pre-order on very limited vinyl. Ships in October.”

Their fervent followers assumed that this meant the record was released in the autumn, however, days later a select number of fans who had placed the pre-order started to receive mysterious one-track CD copies in the post clocking in at 61 minutes long.

In the early hours of this morning, Brand New confirmed the title of the 12-track record is ‘Science Fiction’ and it’s available now via the Procrastinate! Music Traitors website.

Physical copies will ship in October but they all come with an instant download of ‘Science Fiction’ in its glorious entirety.

‘Science Fiction’ was produced by longtime collaborator Mike Sapone and comes with artwork created by Morning Breath.
