Bloodstock Open Air have added three more brutal acts to next summer’s main stage bill.

Fresh from unleashing their ninth studio album ‘Deceiver of the Gods’ this summer, Swedish melodic death metallers Amon Amarth will be bringing their delectable sounds to Catton Park.

The band enthused: "We are proud and excited to be playing Bloodstock in 2014, the birthplace of the ‘Epic Viking Rowing’ which has spread amongst Amon Amarth fans across the world!

“See all of you B-O-A maniacs in August and cheers from your friends in Amon Amarth!"

Also heading to Bloodstock are Connecticut’s finest metalcore exports Hatebreed and the mighty Prong.

A somewhat enthusiastic Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed shouted: “When I found out, I opened my window and yelled ‘F* YEAH, MOTHERF***!!!!’

“My neighbour looked up at me startled, and asked what the outburst was all about. I told him ‘We’re playing BLOODSTOCK 2014!!!’”

Headlined by Down, Emperor and Megadeth, Bloodstock also boasts performances from Children of Bodom, Obituary, Crowbar, Saxon, Decapitated, Flotsam & Jetsam and Evil Scarecrow.

The metal Mecca takes place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th August 2014.
