Blink-182 to share bill with black metal bands at inaugural Norway gig

A stark juxtaposition of musical styles

Published 23rd Nov 2016

Blink-182 have announced their first ever live show in Norway and, somewhat fittingly, they will share the bill with a host of black metal bands.

The pop-punk trio will top the bill at the Tons of Rock in June 2017 – an event usually synonymous with acts from the more extreme side of the metal genre.

Norwegian black metal acts on the line-up include the legendary Emperor performing their 1997 album ‘Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk’ in its entirety, the gloriously brutal Satyricon and the fearsome Taake.

Elsewhere the event will boast performances from influential Swedish doom metallers Candlemass, German thrash heroes Sodom and Norwegian punks Honningbarna.

Expect to hear songs like ‘Ensorcelled by Khaos’ and ‘Transcendental Requiem Of Slaves’ starkly juxtaposed by ‘What’s My Age Again?’ and ‘All The Small Things’.

In other Blink-182 news, the band have added an Aberdeen date to their July 2017 UK tour due to phenomenal demand.
