Black Sabbath’s final Birmingham gig to hit UK cinemas this September

Heavy metal torchbearers Black Sabbath are screening their last ever show at cinemas worldwide this autumn.
Black Sabbath: The End of The End documents the band’s triumphant swansong show (for now at least) at the 16,000 capacity Birmingham Genting Arena on 4th February 2017.
It will be screened at 1,500 cinemas worldwide for one night only on Thursday 28th September with tickets on sale now via the film’s official website.
Directed by Dick Carruthers, who worked on Led Zeppelin’s ‘Celebration Day’, as well as live footage of the band in their imperious live glory the film will feature behind-the-scenes clips and intimate personal anecdotes.
"To bring it all back home after all these years was pretty special," Black Sabbath said in a statement.
"It was so hard to say goodbye to the fans, who've been incredibly loyal to us through the years. We never dreamed in the early days that we'd be here 49 years later doing our last show on our home turf."
Ahead of the show taking place, Ozzy Osbourne maintained to Rolling Stone that they definitely won’t be reforming again.
“We're definitely finishing in Birmingham," Ozzy said. "We're not going to re-form after five years and say, ‘Because of public demand…’. Black Sabbath has been up and down and 'round the mulberry bush so many times."
However, contradicting this, Tony Iommi told Planet Rock that there could be further Sabbath activity in the future.
“I like (playing on stage) and I’m sure it’s not going to end like that; I’m sure we might do a one-off show somewhere,” Tony said.
“It’s just the touring for me – it’s time to stop roaming the world and be at home for a bit... I’m still going to write and put stuff out.”
As recently as this month, Tony refused to rule out playing a homecoming gig at Villa Park, telling eonline: “I think it would be nice to do that at some point. I haven’t spoke to the others about it, but it would be, honestly, and they’d be up for it. It’s early days yet, really. It hasn’t even sunk in as far as we’ve finished.”
