Bill Ward announces 'gut-kicking heavy' post-Black Sabbath band Day of Errors
He formed the group "in the desire to have my drumming spirit continue to live"
Drumming behemoth Bill Ward has announced details of his post-Black Sabbath band Day of Errors.
The three-piece was personally formed by Ward "in the desire to have my drumming spirit continue to live" and also features Joe Amodea on guitar/vocals and Nick Diltz on bass/lead vocals.
They will be joined by guest musicians Walter Earl on percussion and Aron Ward on keyboards.
Unveiling the project on Facebook last night, : “In the desire to have my drumming spirit continue to live, I'm pleased to say that I've helped to create a new three-piece band called "Day of Errors," accompanied by two guest musicians playing keyboards and percussion.
“We play loud, hard, with overtures of gut-kicking heavy, heavy parts.”
At present there are no details of music releases or live performances, however, Bill has promised, “more information will follow.”
Bill, of course, was present at Black Sabbath’s reformation in November 2011 but the following February left in somewhat acrimonious circumstances over a contract dispute.
After a string of disparaging and conflicting comments from both sides in the ensuing years over the contract and Bill’s health, Ozzy Osbourne released a strongly-worded statement in April 2015 blasting Bill saying: “Stop playing the victim and be honest with yourself and our fans.”
Although Bill says he “lost a friend” in Osbourne, he united with Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler to pick up an Ivor Novello award in May 2015.
Ozzy's solo drummer, Tommy Clufetos, is currently touring with the Black Sabbath, while Rage Against The Machine’s Brad Wilk recorded the drums on 2013’s ‘13’.
Bill himself released his first solo album in two decades, 'Accountable Beasts, last April.
Black Sabbath headline Download Festival this coming Saturday (11th June).
