Biffy Clyro: 'We Snubbed Leona Lewis Collaboration'

They were also asked to hook-up with Robbie Williams

Biffy Clyro have revealed they turned down the chance to write songs for Leona Lewis and Robbie Williams.

The trio’s single ‘Many Of Horror’ was covered by X Factor winner Matt Cardle - re-named ‘When We Collide’ for the anodyne masses - back in 2010 and following its success Biffy were approached by pop bosses to work with more artists.

Simon Neil explained: "We got asked to have a writing session with Leona Lewis and play on Robbie Williams's record Take the Crown.

"Writing for others is something I'd love to do once we slow down as a band. But if you write a song that you think is one of the best ever, and it's not for our band, I don't know if I'd be happy giving it away."

He continued to The Daily Star: "I'm a wee bit selfish about it, plus we've got enough side projects, so we've got other outlets. It's a beautiful thing to sit and write songs all day."

Biffy Clyro’s UK arena tour kicks off at Newcastle Metro Radio on 20th March and wraps up at London O2 Arena two weeks later. As always head to kerrangradio.co.uk/tickets to check ticket availability.
