The mighty Biffy Clyro have announced that their upcoming new studio album is called ‘A Celebration of Endings.’

The Scottish rock trio shared the name of the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Ellipsis’ and their 2019 soundtrack album ‘Balance, Not Symmetry’ on their social media channels last night along with the visually striking artwork.

Although Biffy Clyro are yet to reveal the release date for the album, we do know that it will feature 11 songs, including the massive Kerrang! Radio playlist anthem 'Instant History'.

Commenting on ‘Instant History’, Biffy Clyro singer Simon Neil says: “This time around we wanted to lead with something that was the most out there thing which we’ve got on the record. ‘Instant History’ is the biggest, most slammest pop moment we’ve ever worked on.

“It’s a fantastic opening statement, although musically it doesn’t reflect the album’s direction. But thematically it’s a good pointer for what the album is about: learning from mistakes and realising how you can move things forward. Things can be similar although they’ll never be the same, but let’s not be scared of that.”

According to Biffy Clyro’s label Warner Bros., ‘A Celebration of Endings’ sees Biffy Clyro “push everything they do best to the next level.”

Last May, Biffy Clyro released the soundtrack album ‘Balance, Not Symmetry’ for the British-American crime movie of the same name.

Their last ‘proper’ studio album, ‘Ellipsis’, came out back in July 2016 and stormed straight in at number one on the Official Album Chart. It spawned the epic singles ‘Wolves of Winter’, ‘Animal Style’, ‘Re-arrange’ and ‘Howl’, which was co-written by Gary Lightbody.
