The mighty Architects have stormed straight in at Number 1 on the UK album chart with their phenomenal ninth studio album ‘For Those That Wish To Exist.’

In an incredibly closely fought chart race, Architects’ ‘For Those That Wish To Exist’ finished just 550 copies ahead of Maximo Park ‘Nature Always Wins’ to claim the top spot. Alice Cooper’s ‘Detroit Stories’ finished at no.4.

‘For Those That Wish To Exist’ is not only Architects’ first chart-topper but also their first Top 10 album in the UK.

Their previous highest charting record was 2016’s ‘All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us’ which reached number 15 on the Official Chart. 2014's 'Lost Forever // Lost Together' and 2018's 'Holy Hell' peaked at no.16 and no.18 respectively.

Celebrating the incredible news, Architects dedicated the chart triumph to late-great guitarist Tom Searle, who died from cancer aged 28 in August 2016.

“I cannot begin to tell you how much this means to us,” Architects said. “Thank you to every single person who bought this record. We love you so much and we could not have done this without you.

“To have an album that connects this much, with what we’re talking about - trying and pushing for a better world - it’s unbelievable. As ever, everything we do is for Tom Searle, our brother.”
