Architects unveil powerful piano version of ‘Doomsday’

Architects have shared an emotionally raw and powerful piano version of their 2017 single ‘Doomsday’.

The stripped-back ‘piano reprise’ reworking of the song sees Sam Carter’s stunning vocals compliment the delicate keys of pianist and composer James Beckwith perfectly. Have a listen to the song here:

First premiered last September 2017, the original version of ‘Doomsday’ was the first new material to be released by Architects since Tom Searle’s untimely death from cancer in August 2016.

Tom started penning ‘Doomsday’ before he died with his brother and bandmate Dan finishing the highly potent lyrics.

Writing on Twitter at the time of its unveiling, Dan said: “Doomsday was a song that Tom had started but never got to finish. Completing it for him was a massive responsibility. I hope you all enjoy x

“Doomsday is not from an album we've recorded. It's just 1 song. It's just the start. Our way of showing everyone that there's still a future.”

Architects played the biggest headline show of their career at London’s 11,000 capacity Alexandra Palace in February.
