Black Veil Brides singer Andy Biersack – aka Andy Black – has premiered the video to his cover of ‘My Way’ made famous by Frank Sinatra.
Arguably one of the most famous and enduring songs of the 20th Century, the ‘My Way’ lyrics were penned by Paul Anka in 1967 and it was set to the music of the French song ‘Comme d'habitude.’
Also covered by artists including Elvis Presley and Sid Vicious, Frank Sinatra’s 1969 version became the legendary crooner’s signature song.
Explaining why he decided to take on such an epic song, Andy said: "I have always loved this song and the idea of doing my own take on it as an homage to my influences was initially inspired by a recent cover shoot and story.”
The Patrick Fogarty directed video opens with childhood VHS videos before Andy faithfully covers ‘My Way’ clutching a retro microphone and in front of a spotlight.
Echoing Sid Vicious’ raucous interpretation of the track, just past the minute mark Andy’s cover evolves into a blistering rock track.
