AC/DC legend Brian Johnson flips vintage car in dramatic crash
Fortunately he wasn't hurt
Brian Johnson dramatically flipped a vintage car during qualifying for the Celebrity Challenge Trophy race at Silverstone Classic over the weekend.
The former AC/DC singer was driving an Austin A35 car while taking part in the heats at the 3.66-mile Grand Prix circuit when he lost control while negotiating a bend in bad weather conditions.
As pictures shared on Twitter by auto racing analyst Nick DeGroot show, Brian’s vehicle did a full flip before eventually coming to a rest.
The good news is that Brian escaped unscathed from the crash after being tended to by medical personnel at the circuit.
As a result of the incident, Brian was unable to take part in the main event, which saw 26 celebrities from the worlds of music, TV, journalism and sport race Austin A30s and A35s in teams in a bid to win £10,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
Brian, of course, is a car and racing fanatic and owns a Royale RP-4 and a Pilbeam MP84, which he races in vintage and historic races throughout the United States.
As well as starring in car racing reality television series The Race in 2006 and as the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car on the BBC's Top Gear (eventually coming second to Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay), Brian hosted a documentary series called Cars That Rock with Brian Johnson in May 2014.
Five years ago he competed at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida in 2012 to raise cash for children’s cancer charity Highway To Help.
