Wiltshire woman appears in court charged with murdering her ex-partner

A woman has been remanded into custody after appearing in court charged with murdering her ex-partner in Wiltshire.

Swindon Magistrates' Court heard that 53 year old Helen Shakespeare is alleged to have stabbed Raymond Groves, who was 48 and from Hartcliffe in Bristol, at her home on Tuesday in Easterton, near Devizes.

She is also accused alongside unnamed others of conspiracy to murder and is due in court again next week.

A man in his 30s has also been arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. A woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. She has been further arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Both remain in custody for questioning.
