Officers release images of 19 people over Celtic and Rangers Glasgow chaos
Missiles were being thrown in the direction of police while Christmas shoppers ran away screaming.
Officers have released images of 19 people they think could help them with their investigations into the chaos caused by Celtic and Rangers fans in Glasgow last month.
Fans were seen running around chasing after each other and police on Argyle Street before the Premier Sports Cup Final at Hampden Park on December 15.
The disruption resulted in an officer being hurt and a 26-year-old man was taken to hospital after being injured.
The people in the images are being asked to contact the police and officers are also keen to speak to other members of the public who were in the centre at that time and witnessed the disruption.
City council leader Susan Aitken hit out at both clubs in a statement accusing them of not doing enough to deter fans from misbehaving on the streets.
She said: "To say this behaviour is unacceptable is an understatement - but what’s particularly concerning is that this kind of thing keeps happening.
“I wrote to both Celtic and Rangers after the similar incidents that took place around Hampden last year and they did nothing.
“The football industry seems to be quite happy to make money off these thugs while decent folk have to live with the consequences. That’s not good enough.”
