The Met Office has continued to issue a number of weather warnings for areas of the UK as the country continues to be hit by poor weather.

Over the weekend, yellow weather warnings for rain have stretched across the South West of the UK from Cornwall to Sussex and into South Wales.

Similarly, a yellow weather warning for wind has also been issued across the western coast of Wales and into the West Country.

The weather warning for rain in the South West will continue to run until 9am on Monday (September 30th).

However, on top of this, meteorologists have issued two further weather warnings for rain on Monday, impacting the North West, North East and East Midlands.

A weather front will cause heavy rain for the North West of England from 12:30am on Monday morning to 8pm on Monday evening.

Cities such as Manchester and Liverpool are set to be affected, as the area of concern stretches into Cheshire, Shropshire and into the east of Wales.

A second weather warning for rain has also been established for the eastern seaboard of the UK, affecting the Yorkshire coast, Lincolnshire and Norfolk, before making its way inland into the East Midlands, hitting cities such as Sheffield and Nottingham.

The second warning comes into force from 8am on Monday and will run until 3am on Tuesday (October 1st).

The Met Office says: "An area of rain, heavy in places, will affect parts of the north-east Midlands and east and northeast England during Monday, before clearing overnight.

"There is significant uncertainty in the amount of rainfall and location of the largest totals, but 20-40 mm of rain could fall quite widely with a chance that a few places could see 60-80 mm. Strong north-easterly winds will accompany the rain."

It comes as much of the country continues to grapple with the impact of previous weather systems, particularly in the south and south west of England.
