Drone crash at Henley Royal Regatta 'could have killed someone'
An official air crash investigation has taken place after it hit a boat on the Thames
Last updated 18th Jan 2023
Air accident investigators say a drone that dropped out of the sky at last year's Henley Royal Regatta could have killed someone.
The drone was being used to film races at the event last summer when it started to run out of power - before it could land safely it went into near freefall and hit a boat below on the Thames.
Six people were onboard the 'Celtic Queen' as it travelled down river.
Investigators from the A-A-I-B say if the drone had hit one of the people on the boat they most likely would have died.
Here's the conclusion from the official report
