There have been delays this morning after a person was hit by a train between Ashford and Canterbury.

Services between Ashford International and Canterbury West were stopped and diverted via Dover Priory after the electricity supply was switched off to allow for emergency service to safely access the railway.

However, Southeastern has now confirmed that services will soon be back to normal. A spokesperson said: "Emergency services are now away from the railway and trains will soon be able to run again between Ashford and Canterbury West."

The first trains are expected to be the 10:42 from Ramsgate to Charing Cross and the 9:34 from Charing Cross to Ramsgate which should leave Ashford at 10:56
