Last year he released a Christmas song - this year Devon’s ‘celebrity pony’ is releasing a children’s book.

The book, which includes a hoof print, tells the story of how Patrick was made the ceremonial mayor of a village near Torquay called Cockington.

At the weekend Patrick - who’s a therapy pony - held a book signing outside Waterstones in Torquay town centre where fans gathered to stroke the popular and placid Guinness-sipping 'celebrity pony'.

Co-owner Kirk Petrakis said: "He helps people in real life by going to hospitals, children's hospitals and providing therapy for people.

"His Facebook page has got over 90,000 followers based all around the world

"The NHS staff say when they've had a really hard day in the hospital and they see Patrick it brightens their day up."

Last year bookies thought Patrick was '50 to 1' to land the Christmas number 1

For his birthday party in 2022, the Guinness-sipping pony was welcomed back to his former local and given his own bar and outside area

Concerns started in 2021 when Patrick's owner's business was thrown into doubt over concerns about Winter grazing
