Inspired by Dizzy Gillespie's 1964 run for President, comedian and self-confessed jazz anorak Marcus Brigstocke invites the nation’s greatest jazz-loving comedians, musicians and presenters to assemble their very own Cabinet of Jazz in this unique comedy series exclusively for Jazz FM.
When Dizzy Gillespie ran for president, he wanted Duke Ellington as Secretary of State, Charles Mingus as Secretary of Peace and Miles Davis as Director of the CIA. Who will Marcus’ guests choose?
The Cabinet of Jazz - Programme Schedule:
This Autumn, we'll be broadcasting our first ever comedy series with ground-breaking new series The Cabinet of Jazz every Sunday evening from 17th October at 9pm, for the 10 weeks leading up to Christmas.
Recorded in front of a live audience at Pizza Express Jazz Clubs in Soho and Holborn, the 60-minute programme will feature a diverse cross-section of famous jazz-heads, from actors, comedians, broadcasters, journalists, and musicians themselves, kicking off with journalist Jay Rayner, plus comedians Isy Suttie and Stewart Lee, actor Clarke Peters and musicians Zara MaFarlane and Julian Joseph.
The series is supported by the Audio Content Fund, produced by Loftus media and features a collaboration with Tomorrow's Warriors, who have provided production support and live music for the events.
