In a powerful moment, the awe-inspiring Dee Dee Bridgewater opened up about her wellbeing and mental health on the road with Nigel Williams on his Saturday show. The Grammy and Tony Award-winning jazz giant will open and headline the first ever Wellness Music Festival in St Lucia in September 2020.

Dee Dee stated, "I'm very happy to see the whole idea of speaking about wellness, whether it be mental wellness, physical health - wellness is becoming a subject."

As part of this powerful interview, the respected singer revealed "I generally, except for when I'm in England, travel with an emotional support service dog because I am clinically depressed...I had a dog I used to travel with when I lived in France and, you know, I was on anti-depressants for 15 years and because of my dog... I was able to wean myself off of anti-depressants. It was because of that dog."

Join Nigel Williams every Saturday morning from 10am for more interviews and sessions from across the world of jazz, soul and blues.
