Welcome to A to Z, as heard on Afternoons with Jamie Crick. Every week, on-air and online, we are alphabetically exploring and paying homage to some of the great musicians, performers, albums, record labels and artists we love.

Continuing our progression along the alphabet, we've reached the letter F... So, let's take a look at: Freddie Hubbard, Frank Sinatra and Funkadelic

Frank Sinatra

One of the best selling artists of all time and most popular entertainers of the 20th century, singer and actor Frank Sinatra's charisma and musical ability meant he had a career which spanned over six decades.

Freddie Hubbard

Simply put - Freddie Hubbard was one of the best trumpeters and flugelhorn players of all time. The jazz innovator's powerful horn playing is so distinctive and his style is sometimes more comparable to that of a saxophonist.

Funkadelic

Often associated with its sister act Parliament, Funkadelic was a pioneering funk group led by George Clinton, inspired by the likes of Sly Stone and Jimi Hendrix.
