Swapping jokes with the legendary saxophonist Gary Bartz about his amazing career and sharing tears with Nai Palm (from Hiatus Kaiyote) about the plight of the indigenous peoples of her native Australia.

What is your favourite jazz story?

Spending time with Curtis Mayfield at his home in Atlanta in the ’90s. I went to interview him as a journalist for Straight No Chaser magazine and he ended up interviewing me and realigning all my life goals.
