We're excited to announce that YolanDa Brown will present a weekly show from Saturday, 30th June 2020.

Her show – “YolanDa Brown on Saturday” – will broadcast between 2pm and 6pm every Saturday afternoon and will allow YolanDa to showcase some of the world’s greatest jazz, soul and blues performers with her inimitable style, full of passion, personality and fun. Thanks to the lockdown, the show will initially be broadcast from home, where she balances all her work with being a full-time mum.

YolanDa has been a mainstay of the UK jazz community for over a decade; she’s toured the world, performed with Billy Ocean, The Temptations, Beverley Knight and Diana Krall, and she chairs the charity Youth Music. As a broadcaster, YolanDa has presented across BBC national radio, and her TV work includes presenting Young Jazz Musician of the Year and 'YolanDa’s Band Jam' for CBeebies. She also has her own BA in-flight gospel show. She is a multiple MOBO Award winner, becoming the first musician to win a MOBO Award for “Best Jazz” over two consecutive years.

Of joining Jazz FM, YolanDa says: “Jazz FM oozes cool… my relationship started as a listener many years ago and now to be a part of the Jazz FM family is an absolute honour. I cannot wait to meet the current listeners and bring some new ones along on the journey too.”

Nick Pitts, Jazz FM’s Content Director says: “We’ve been planning this for quite a while but the COVID-19 crisis and the ensuing lockdown took hold, so I’m really pleased that we can now bring YolanDa to Jazz FM. Her bright, fresh approach to the music as a working jazz musician in so many disciplines will really add a layer to our presentation and will expose Jazz FM to a whole new audience. She is also one of the smiliest people and her warmth immediately comes across on the airwaves”.
