Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis has joined with singer Liza Minnelli to record a piece called ‘Until The End’. The song features in a new documentary film called ‘Garnet’s Gold’ and is released December 2nd.

‘Until The End’ is written by J. Ralph, who has collaborated Norah Jones and scored films including ‘The Cove’ and ‘Man on Wire’. It’s a shuffling traditional jazz song with a great solo from Wynton. Liza Minelli commented, ”It reminded me of some of the best songs I've recorded over the years."

The film tells the story of Garnet Frost who almost died whilst out hiking near Loch Arkaig in Scotland twenty years ago. He narrowly survived and whilst he awaited rescue he discovered a wooden staff. The discovery resonated with Frost for several years, during which he made extensive research and remained convinced it was a marker for a hidden fortune. Garnet embarks on his journey back to the wilderness that almost took his life to find the stash but the documentary is more consumed with his exhuberance and inspirational character.

‘Garnet’s Gold’ is directed by Ed Perkins and produced by Oscar winning producer Simon Chinn (Man On Wire & Searching For Sugarman).
