Today marks the first day of We Out Here Festival 2020, which is taking place online and on the radio.
From August 21st through 23rd, We Out Here & On Air will be broadcast via video stream on Mixcloud Live and across two radio stations: Worldwide FM and Reform Radio in Manchester. All proceeds from the event will go to Black Lives Matter-affiliated organisations.
Attendees can enjoy 50 artists across eight stages, including Mr Scruff, DJ Paulette and Underground Resistance's Mark Flash. There will also be panel discussions, films, workshops and kids activities to tune into throughout the festival.
The festival will also feature artists like from Moses Boyd, Kokoroko, Louie Vega and Bluey.
Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick will be the fourth superstar artist featured on our ground-breaking series The Music That Made Me, which explores the music that has defined eight of Jazz FM’s key artists. Find out everything you need to know here.

About We Out Here Festival:
The festival, which is in its second year, is launched and headed by Gilles Peterson. Prior to the pandemic, the UK festival, which centres around soul, jazz, funk, R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeat and disco, was scheduled to take place in Abbots Ripton on August 20th.
Gilles Peterson joined us earlier this year to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Watch the video below to discover why Gilles was sacked by the station in it's early days...
